Day Camp is open to all registered Cub Scouts and is provided as an opportunity for Scouts to have outdoor fun while developing scouting skills and character strengths as outlined in the Scout Law. The Outdoor Activity Center of the Alamo Area Council is seeking to address any and all concerns or questions which may keep your Scout from attending Day Camp. Please read the following email and links for updated Day Camp information. If your questions remain unanswered please contact Jay Ghormley, Outdoor Adventure Executive (jay.ghormley@scouting.org  or 210-464-6643 cell/text).

Cub Scout Day Camp Registration:
Registration for all Cub Scout Day Camps remains open here:  http://www.alamoareabsa.org/daycamp2016

Walking Den Leaders:
Walking Den Leaders are required for every Cub Scout Pack that is sending two (2), or more, Cub Scouts to a given week of Day Camp. One Walking Den Leader is needed for the first 2-5 Scouts, with One (1) additional Walking Den Leader for each additional five (5) scouts. (2-5, 6-10, etc.)
Individual Cub Scouts, attending alone, do not require a Walking Den Leader unless the Scout is a Tiger Cub (entering First Grade). Tiger Cubs must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
Walking Den Leader training is NOT MANDATORY; however, it is highly recommended for all adults who will attend Day Camp with Cub Scouts. Training includes a camp overview, job description and expectations, emergency procedures, Camp Staff introductions and In Person Youth Protection Training.

In Person Youth Protection Training is required for all adults who will be on -site, even if only for one day. The YPT class will be held during the last hour of each training session. In Person YPT is good for 2 years.

Day Camp/LDS Week Clarification:
The week of July 11-15 has been labeled as an LDS week. This camp is open to ALL Scouts; the theme will be Wild, Wild West. LDS Packs will receive religious teaching as part of their schedule.
NON-LDS packs will have the full Day Camp Experience and will not participate in LDS religious activities. Non-LDS packs will receive additional time in Day Camp activities such as Shooting Sports and Swimming.
