Start of the School Year Events

The first few events of the School are outlined below and also have some detail so you know what to expect the first of the year...

1. Meet the Teacher - This is scheduled for Friday August 22nd from 3-5pm. Dr Dave and Alfredo will be in attendance passing out flyers and manning the table for Scout recruiting. If anyone can help volunteer for this event, please contact Alfredo or Dr Dave via email. Normally we work in 1 hour shifts so even if you can spare 1 hour that would be helpful

2. Scout Round Up - This is scheduled for Wednesday Sept 3 from 6:30-7:30pm. Dr Dave hosts a meeting for the Parents of prospective Scouts up at Bob Beard. We need some Scouts and/or a Den to volunteer to play with the prospective Scouts during the meeting. Normally they go play basketball outside on the Playground so the Parents can focus on the meeting. Scouts who do attend are eligible for the Recruiting patch.

3. Popcorn Kickoff Party - This is scheduled for Saturday September 6th from 10:30-12:30 at the Holy Episcopal Church off of Bandera road. Diana will be sending out follow up emails about this event, but basically this is where we will be passing out the Popcorn kits. In addition we will be having some fun events for the Scouts. We are trying to make this event be a fun activity and not just about passing out Popcorn. That said we do need a few volunteers to help with this so please contact Diana if you can help and watch out for her emails with the additional information.

4. Popcorn Table Sales - Diana has managed to get 2 tables at Old Navy off of Bandera Road on Sunday September 7th and Saturday September 13th. She will be sending out some emails to help with signing up to man the tables.

5. Pack meeting - Our first Pack meeting will be on Monday September 29th. Please be on the look out for an email detailing the new format for our Pack meetings. This was done to hopefully make these meetings more fun for the Scouts.
